Okay, so my day went a little like this....
Started like any other normal Monday. Crazy busy, desk piled high, and a million things to do and not enough time (and I HATE leaving things on my desk to do the next day).
We won our grant contest for our adoption! Yup, that's right we have the most amazing friends and family in the world that they all piled together to help us win our $500.00 adoption grant on top of the $700.00 + they helped us raise. Yup, we are well on our way to having a fully funded adoption. A HUGE thank you goes out to those who helped us get to where we are. And an even bigger thank you to our Heavenly Father for providing for us when we needed it the most.
Then we got FREE pizza from Pizza Hut. Yup, that's right a free pizza delivered right to our door without us even ordering anything. They were advertising their new company-- which delivered food from a bunch of different places.
Then MJ said some funny things. (If you can believe that)
"I think Grover Cleveland was a fufu." (which means he thinks he might have been swinging the other way, if you know what I mean) He is reading a book about Grover Cleveland and was telling us all about it. He was telling us some crazy stuff. :) I think I might actually want to read it, since I have actually learned more about history in the three years I have worked at the law office than I did in all four years of high school.
"How would you like your name to be Hugh Jassow." He was talking about a client that has a horrible last name, but thought it would be worse to have that name. Oh, how I love how his brain works.
He said a lot more funny things than that, but I only remember these ones for now because I remember at one point my side hurt so bad because I was laughing so hard.
Then we were watching Dateline and there was a section on the book Heaven is For Real. A book that I just finished reading (which JJ got from one of his classmates) and I feel really changed me and made me a stronger, better, Christian. So, if you have not read it, I strongly suggest you read it.
With that all being said, today was one of those days that I finally feel things are looking up!!
And I have to give all the credit to my heavenly Father, without him, I would not be where I am at today. That and my WONDERFUL friends and family.
Until next time. --Chow--

The Randoms of Tuesday, August 23
Since I have started my blog it seemed like nothing funny happened around here. Until today. Today has been one of those CRAZY days. I think it all started when I woke up this morning and it was orange outside. I know Megan saw the same thing as I did, because it was crazy ORANGE out there and I had to say something about it this morning. Anyways, the rest of our day happened like this.
I did get to go to the gym today, for the first time in what feels like MONTHS, even thought it has only been a few weeks. So, that makes me a happier person, just right there.
A client calls and every time he calls he says "Yeah this is _________, I'm a client of Mike's." Really? You have only been calling here since April. I think I would know you are a client of ours by now. I can actually tell your voice before you even saw what your name is. You don't need to tell me you are a client, every time you call.
Another client calls and says that he is in Washington, D.C. (which he told me earlier today) and they just had an earthquake. In his defense we are trying to get him to sign some paperwork that needed to be signed um, four hours ago. But you were just in an earthquake and the first thing you do is call your attorney? How crazy is that?
MJ is a copy freak. And he is always wanting me to make copies of three of EVERYTHING. I swear we kill more trees than anyone I know. (He is not that GREEN of a guy) So, a new client comes in and brings a bunch of stuff with him. And remind you, MOST of our clients are not organized at all. So, MJ just gives me the stack of stuff and tells me to make a copy of it all. So, Megan was over by me looking at all of it. And I said, yeah MJ wants me to make a copy of all that. She is going through the stack of stuff and opens a legal size folder and pulls out a stack of bills. Well at least that is what it looks like. So, she starts going through it. And pulls out a envelope and says "Yeah, MJ, here you want a copy of the f***ing envelope." I guess it really was funnier in person! Well the rest of the stack was just empty envelopes.
MJ bought a sheep today.
MJ also bought Scentsy today.
I should maybe explain... He bought the sheep to donate to children in Ethiopia. Which in turn, a portion of the proceeds benefits our adoption costs! Yes, he really is that nice of a guy. And, who could say no to me? And be bought the scentsy, well for his house, and some for the office! Again, he really is that nice of a guy! He rarely says no to us. Well, he did say no to Megan and I one time when we REALLY wanted to go watch him in Court because we knew he was going to do a really good job and the Attorney on the other side, is well, I can't say what he calls her, because I can't even say the word out loud, so I definitely can't type it. So we knew it was going to be good. But, he said NO, that we couldn't go to the hearing.
The day is almost done, so there might be more. But for now, I would have to say that today was a very interesting day! Until I have some other crazy story to tell you about the office, CHOW!

Directions
So, I started this blog with the intentions on sharing with you all the crazy, funny, sometimes very inappropriate things that happen to me at work. Then I realized I didn't want you all to think that, that is all we do around here is mess around! So I decided I have to open myself up and my co-partners in crime to the sensitive side to our office as well, and occasionally throw in there a few serious things that are going on in my life as well. So, again, sit back and enjoy the ride!
With that said, I have to tell you about the wonderful morning we had this morning. MJ decided he needed to take some time off (since his trip to Ireland, well that is another story, did not go through). So he has spent the last two days with his wonderful wife, enjoying beautiful Wisconsin. But, we had to invade on their territory this morning, and enjoy coffee and breakfast with MJ, his wife, his son and his girlfriend (HAPPY BIRTHDAY to them both) and Megan and I in MJ's BEAUTIFUL back yard. Which two years ago we spent a lot of time in when he was recovering from back surgery and still thought he had to work, so we would bring work to and from his house and the office. But today was different. Today was just a day to enjoy the beautiful morning and the beautiful day and enjoy some of the best company I have ever been in. As I sit back and remember just the hour and half we spent in the back yard, it feels like I have a fresh start to the day, possibly even the month!
So, even though there are days when I can't even think straight because MJ's thinks he knows how much work I can handle and will only give me what he knows I can handle, I have to sit back and remember the mornings in the back yard. And again I have to thank God for putting me in this place, in this office, and with these people. All to whom I would not be where I am at today, without them!
Until next time (which I hope isn't too far away)

Just a quick funny story
Just to give you all an idea of what kind of personality MJ has I thought I would share with you this quick little story.
MJ asks me how I am doing today and I reply, "I am so tired, I slept really bad last night. I don't think I ever slept so bad in my life."
MJ, of course, says "Wait until you have to have a colonoscopy the next day."

Just one quick last week story
Of course I have plenty of stories that have already happened in my almost 3 years of working at the office that I will share on days and weeks when our entertainment is low. But I had to share the one that happened just this last week.
Megan and I were sitting in my office (her office is down the hall) and we were talking away (which we do best!) and all of a sudden I look out the window and there is a little boy, maybe 6, peeing on the tree. Yes, I said that right, he was PEEING on the tree, in the middle of our beautiful capitol square. And you might be asking where were his parents? Yes, that is right there were standing maybe 20 feet away, doing nothing but not paying attention to their children. Because shortly after that, his maybe 3 year old brother also thought it was a good idea to pee on the tree.
So there you have it, just a short glimpse into my daily life.

Starting Out
In honor of my boss's (who will for now on be referred to as MJ) birthday I have decided to blog about my days at the office. And of course his birthday is not until September but has been telling me his birthday has been coming up for the last 4 months!
I will give you a brief background of my job first. We are a small law office. We practice mostly family law with a little bit of everything else mixed in. Our entire staff consists of 3 people. MJ, Megan and myself. I feel as if we are one well oiled family. Who else can spend 40 hours a week with two people and still like them at the end of the week? Well, this girl can. I intend for this blog to be mostly funny, because of course, there are days when I am at the office and I am crying because I am laughing so hard and I want to share that humor with the rest of the world. But I do have to get sentimental and have to say that I was put at that office with those two people for a reason. A reason that is beyond my plan because I never would have planned that for myself. For that, I have to give all credit to my heavenly Father!
With that said, sit back, relax and get ready to hear about how I spend my days in our capitol city with two of the most interesting, funny, unpredictable, loving, caring, supportive, and random people I have ever met in my life.
